    Over a number of years, concerns have been raised with NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) about the future of two Sheffield care homes – Birch Avenue and Woodland View, and whether adequate funding is in place to guarantee their future.

    Volunteers between 14-25 decided to investigate how Sheffield’s young people feel about their own sense of self worth, and how that impacts on their mental health and wellbeing.

    In October and November 2018, Healthwatch Sheffield were invited to three meetings run by Sheffield Autistic Society. We listened to adults with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and their families/carers about their experiences

    We worked with Sheffield City Council and local voluntary sector organisations to speak to people who use home care services – we found out what they and their family carers think about the experiences, and the changes they would like to see.

    We worked with Sheffield Mencap and Gateway to explore the experiences of people with a Learning Disability when they access health and social care services.
