Enter & View - Haythorne Place Care Home

In March 2015, 6 of our Enter & View volunteers visited Haythorne Place Care Home.

Our Enter & View programme involves visiting publicly funded health and social care services in Sheffield to talk to service users, their relatives and carers, as well as staff. Visits are carried out by our Enter & View volunteers.

Enter & View is different to an inspection - we focus on what it is like for people receiving care. Visiting places where people actually receive care is a powerful way for us to hear directly from individuals about their experiences of services.

Summary of Findings:

  • Staff showed committed to residents' well-being, are professionally competent, and had undergone regular and appropriate training
  • The physical environment in some of the units was tired, and required updating
  • Staff adapted to residents needs and wishes. There was also a broad programme of 'outings' and activities.
  • Staff changes have led to limited recent development of facilities, and activities for users.
