Together for Good: Healthwatch Strategy 2018-20

This is our strategy. Our ambition is to work in partnership with local people, to ensure that the views and experiences of our communities are heard by the people making decisions about health and social care.

This strategy sets out the difference we want to make by 2020, and how we will achieve it.

In order to shape our priorities for the next two years, we asked the people of Sheffield what they wanted us to focus on. We spoke to 543 people through surveys, meetings, and other consultations, and they told us what mattered to them.

Our six priority areas, as decided by you:

  • Access to Primary Care
  • Access to Dentists
  • Experiences of people with Dementia and their families/carers
  • The equity and experience of Continuing Health Care (CHC) assessments
  • Understanding what services are available and how to access them
  • Quality of day centre provision and quality of care homes

We will focus on finding out more about people's experiences in these areas, and influencing local decision makers and service providers to make improvements based on your feedback.

We have also set out other targets in our strategy to improve the way that we work and the impact that we have. Our ambitious goal is to increase the number of people we're hearing from by 50% over the next two years.

We launched the 2018-20 strategy at a celebration event in June, where we also showcased our annual report. Read more about that below.
