VCF Forum Dec 2018 - Ready, Set, Engage!

The final Voluntary, Community, and Faith Sector (VCF) Health & Wellbeing Forum of 2018 was ‘Ready, Set, Engage!’. We focused on what effective engagement looks like & how the work done by VCF organisations can improve health and social care services

Our VCF (Voluntary, Community, and Faith sector) Forums bring together decision makers, members of the public, and those working across voluntary and statutory organisations. We discuss topics related to the health & wellbeing of local people. Find out more here.

Why is engagement important?

In addition to engagement for improvement, VCF organisations need to engage effectively with their beneficiaries in order to understand their needs, and also to demonstrate to funders the importance of their support.

The aims of the Forum were to explore:

  • What is meant by engagement?
  • How do you give communities a voice in order to influence the work you do?
  • What are best practice approaches?

The Forum featured an expert panel discussion, including previous recipients of #SpeakUp small grants, South Yorkshire Community Foundation and Sheffield’s Accountable Care Partnership.

We launched the second round of the #SpeakUp small grants scheme at the Forum. The aim of this scheme is to award grants to not-for-profit, community, and voluntary groups, to enable them to run projects that help local people share their experiences of health and care services in Sheffield.

Applications are now open until 10pm on 17th February 2019. Find out more here
