Tuning in to Teens: A Thaleia project program

The Thaleia project is a wellbeing and empowerment project for girls and young women. The project aims to raise awareness of issues including ADHD and mental health issues and how they affect girls, in order to improve support and promote self-care

The Thaleia project would like to invite parents to their Tuning in to Teens program.

Tuning into teens is a parent program based on the principles of emotion coaching, developed by Dr Sophie Havighurst and Ann Harley in Melbourne, Australia.

The six week course provides parents with a greater understanding of their child’s emotional development and experiences, and with skills to empower them to remain connected with their teen through adolescence in a supportive and empathic way.

The program has been peer assessed and evaluated, and aims to reduce conflict and promote positive parent-child relationships.

The course can also help professionals who work with adolescents and can be modified for specific settings including schools and residential homes.
