South East Sheffield Community Dementia Advice Service used our #SpeakUp grant funding to understand what it's been like for people with dementia, and those who care for them, during the pandemic. What additional support do they need?

The Community Dementia Advice Service in South East Sheffield supports people living with dementia and their families/carers, linking them in with local activities and opportunities.

Saalik Youth Project used our #SpeakUp grant funding to explore the experiences of young people and parents - what was the impact of Covid-19 on their communities, and what support do they need in the future?

Saalik Youth Project works with young people aged 6-25 from ethnically diverse backgrounds and origins in Pitsmoor, Burngreave and Firvale. The group's young people wanted to explore the impact Covid-19 had had on their communities.

SACMHA Health & Social Care used our #SpeakUp grant funding to explore local African Caribbean experiences of home care, and to ensure that these views are heard by those working to improve home care services in Sheffield.

SACMHA delivers a specialist service to people in need of health & social care support. Their roots are in the local African Caribbean community, and they wanted to explore this group's experiences with local home care services.

These are the key things we've been hearing about in July - including people's experiences of hospital care, mental health services, GPs, and dentists. People also shared practical suggestions which they thought would improve their experiences.

Since 2018 we've been reporting that Deaf people don't always have equal access to healthcare in Sheffield. Now, we've received further commitments from Sheffield's Hospitals about how they plan to address issues with accessible information.
