Announcing: Our photography exhibition with Archive Sheffield

This August we’re celebrating people who are inspired to make life better for others. They will be featured in a photography exhibition to showcase their amazing work.

10 local people were nominated to take part in this exciting collaborative project between health and social care consumer champion Healthwatch Sheffield and photography group Archive Sheffield.

The exhibition shines a spotlight on some of the people who, inspired by their own experience or the experience of someone close to them, are using their insights to make things better for others.

We heard stories from people aged 17 to 93 from Sheffield, and from all different walks of life. From Lee, who works tirelessly to improve access and services for other disabled people, to Melissa, an autistic woman who promotes autism awareness and understanding.

Nominations came from organisations such as SAYiT, Manor & Castle Development Trust and Disability Sheffield.

Stories of health

Photographs of the nominees and their stories will be displayed in Sheffield’s iconic Winter Gardens, along with a limited edition newspaper for visitors to take away from the exhibition. Newspapers will also be distributed across the city.

This exhibition and newspaper forms the 7th edition of Archive Sheffield’s project to create photographs which depict and preserve the diversity of the city’s population.

Please come along to see the exhibition, and learn about some of the amazing Sheffielders who work to improve the city for us all:
