Interested in social care services?

If you are interested in the quality and future of social care services and have a bit of spare time, there’s a volunteering opportunity that might be perfect for you. The Council’s Monitoring Advisory Board is looking for lay members.

This quarterly meeting is chaired by Councillor Cate McDonald and attended by other councillors as well as council officers who prepare and present a series of reports. The reports relate to the performance of contracted service providers, mostly care homes and home care . In particular, they discuss dealing with those whose performance falls below expected standards although they also discuss new developments and upcoming tenders.

Healthwatch Sheffield already has a representative who attends the meetings but the Board is keen to have another lay member.

Interested?
