Survey: Your views on Public Health and Inequalities

Sheffield City Council is undertaking a review of the city’s approach to improving public health in Sheffield and its relationship with inequalities.

As part of this they will look at their priorities for public health in the city, and the interventions they currently make to improve outcomes in these areas; identify the things they would like to improve; and develop a strategy setting out how they will do this by 2020.  This will also look at how they invest their resources for maximum impact.

This review is timely as it is over two years since public health responsibilities transferred from Primary Care Trusts to local authorities.

In that time, public health has become an established part of what the Council does.  They realise however, that they cannot improve public health outcomes in the city on their own.

The support and involvement of a wide range of partners is critical, both in helping to shape the strategy, and in helping to deliver it.  There will be a number of opportunities to get involved in shaping this work.

At this stage of the process, they are interested in hearing the views of as many people and organisations as possible, so please forward this on to others who you think may be interested.
